Make money in your bar by hosting a trivia night

Trivia nights are wildly popular for great reason - they provide an evening of fun and entertainment for the patrons of your establishment. They can help boost the amount of visitors you get, especially if your pub becomes a place famous for well organized, exciting trivia nights.

If you own a pub and want to spice things up and bring in new business, having a trivia night is a great option. If you do so, try to stay organized and make sure you prepare everything in advance.  You'll want to make sure the questions are well prepared, and that you have all the handouts you'll need, and a scoring system in place.  If you don't have the time or experience, you can always use Quizrunners which has many quiz pack options available, as well as an automated scoring system and an audio and picture round with every quiz.

Trivia nights bring in people during the week

Profit margins in restaurants and pubs are fairly thin so packing your pub or bar on a weeknight is a bonus.  I've heard many bar owners talk about how trivia nights have significantly increased profits, and that trivia nights are now the busiest night of the week - even Mondays and Tuesdays!  It provides your patrons with a perfect excuse to meet up with friends, relax and have fun after a hard day's work.

Hosting your own trivia night

For starters you’ll need basic audio equipment, a quizmaster, a developed system of questions and answers and, of course, space.

The quizmaster you choose should be a person with a knack for entertaining people.  Why not try your most personable hostess or server and see how they do?  Whoever you choose, he or she should be able to carry the night, have a good pace and know the crowd.  Choosing someone with a good sense of humor is a plus.

Get organized

Being organized is important. That is why your quizmaster should get familiar with the questions and be sure that the answers are correct.  It's a good idea to use multiple sources to check each answer for accuracy.  They should also ensure that everything is in working order prior to the start of the quiz, and fix any issues, such as sound system or video issues, that may occur.

How will you make money hosting a trivia night?

Trivia nights draw people to pubs that wouldn’t normally be at a pub during the week. Make the trivia nights you organize engaging and fun, and your participants will be coming back for more. How will you make money? You’ll gain regular weekday customers that purchase food and drinks. The people that come and have an excellent time will tell their friends and family about it and invite them to come too.  You'll be amazed at how many people will come to your pub during trivia nights.  So, if you haven’t had your first trivia night, isn't it time to get started?  If you need any help with your event, visit www.quizrunners.com for everything you'll need to get you up and running.
